Vision and Mission

CDP was established with a vision to help end world poverty. CDP’s mission is to fund training for church and community leaders in developing countries to mobilise their communities to start self-funded and self-administered projects to provide employment, income and food security.

Vision Statement

To contribute to global efforts to end world poverty in developing countries by empowering people through skills training and establishing income-generating businesses.

Mission Statement

To fund community development training in Kenya and across Africa to empower trainees to set up income-generating businesses and ensure that the enterprises remain sustainable using local knowledge, expertise, training, resources and skills.

Mission Principles

Focus on Community Development

We create opportunities by funding training for all communities to establish income-producing ventures. Underpinned by community banking as the foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty.

Promote Dignity & Hope

Everyone has something to contribute and gain from creating communities in which all people are brought out of poverty. Dignity and hope are best achieved through local communities developing their own strategies to get them out of poverty.

Support Sustainable & Transformational Development

Our work is successful when it transforms lives and promotes positive and lasting social and economic change within a community. When it is based on mutual trust and fully shared accomplishment and when it demonstrates responsible stewardship of all resources entrusted to us.
